Tandoori Night 2011
Hearts and Minds Curry Night 2011 - After many hours of nail biting, emails and frantic phone calls the Curry Night was upon us. When it was booked in January we wanted a lovely sunny evening and fortune favoured us with fantastic early spring weather. The evening saw 136 members, family, friends and CTC staff sit down to a superb buffet selection of food from all around Asia. The staff and service was top quality as well. During the meal the raffle tickets were sold with some great prizes on offer. After the food had been cleared away, we held our auction, which consisted of 9 varied and very high standard items. When the auction concluded and the raffle draw was made, the DJ got going with music to dance to until midnight.
Those that stayed late had the chance to hear somebody give a Karaoke rendition of I'm A Believer which virtually cleared the restaurant. Perhaps he was a member of Shah's staff used to get people to leave. I hope he wasn't from our group or we won't be allowed back another time.
The committee would like to thank everybody involved in the smooth running of a very successful night. The committee themselves, Shah and his staff at Tandoori Parlour, all the people who donated items for the raffle and auction and of course, everybody who attended the function in aid of "Supporting Excellence in Cardiology".
We are delighted to say that we raised just under £1,500 and added to previously received donations, we are now in the position to place orders for the equipment requested. Thank you to everybody for the support.
Within the raffle and auction prizes were some days and evenings out including Tea and a Tour of Parliament, Theatre Tickets and tickets for some of London's top tourist attractions. We have asked the winners and successful bidders to write a few lines on their trips and these will appear in the newsletter and on the website when they take their days.
