Critical Care Transfer Trolley
The committee have made the decision on the way the groups fundraising money is to be distributed for this year. A donation of £3000 will go towards a Critical Care Transfer Trolley for the Intensive Care Unit and £3000 towards an Upgrade to a 24hr Tape Analyser for the Cardiac Physiology Department at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre . Below are copies of emails from the departments:-
The team on Colne Ward (Critical Care) at the CTC would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hearts and Minds for donating funds to help purchase a much needed Critical Care Transfer Trolley.
At present we do not have a patient trolley suitable for transferring critically unwell patients either to other hospitals, within the hospital for investigations or back to their local hospitals. The design of the new trolley will greatly enhance patient safety as all equipment can be attached securely underneath the trolley whilst giving ease of access to the staff observing the patient. Transfers will be more speedy and efficient as well as safe, and will help to improve our patients experience.

Dear Hearts and Minds
I would just like to thank you on behalf of the Basildon Hospital Cardiac Physiology Department for the money you kindly raised for the upgrade to our 24hr tape analyser.
With more and more patients presenting with cardiac arrhythmias (irregularities to their heart rhythm) this money will enable us to enhance our provision of services, providing one which is even more efficient and effective for our patients, which in turn will enhance their experience. It will also provide a much more agreeable environment for our team to work within and aide in future development of staff. We are very grateful for all you do for us and having support from such groups as yourselves is invaluable.
