Newsletter March - April - May 2018
Welcome to the second newsletter of 2018. The recent bad weather thankfully didn’t impact on our evening meetings. Hopefully, the better weather is now with us to stay. Plenty of news for you and some things to look forward to.
We have had two excellent evening meetings since the last newsletter.
March - We were joined by Sister Sheila Smith who gave us a fascinating and informative update on the progress being made with the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedure. Unfortunately, Dr Aggrawal was unable to join us, but Sheila provided a first class insight to the background to this procedure and how people are selected to undergo this as opposed to traditional surgery for Aortic Valve replacement.
April - Back by popular request, we were joined by Andrew Babicz who gave an interesting an amusing illustrated talk on the ‘Great Gardens of Great Britain’. Andrew spent the whole evening with us and took time to answer many gardening related questions from our members.
